The Roots of Biophilic Design

I'm honored to be featured in Western Home Journal this season, sharing the philosophy behind Organic Designs and our mission to create restorative environments rooted in nature.

In this article, I talk about the scientific roots of biophilic design—how the theories of Attention Restoration Theory (ART) and Stress Reduction Theory (SRT) guide our evidence-based restorative interior designs. From living green walls and custom-built planters, to atriums and moss wall art, every detail is designed to support human well-being and connection to the natural world.

As a licensed General Contractor (CCB# 254385) with a background in human behavioral science and public policy, I believe design should be more than beautiful—it should heal, inspire, and restore people while they live and work indoors.
